DUSP supports a number of unique initiatives aimed at supporting community building and engagement.

Overview

In pursuit of DUSP's four strategic priorities: achieving racial justice, enhancing multi-racial democratic governance, tackling the climate crisis, and closing the wealth gap, we engage in a number of initiatives.

MIT-MSU Collaboration

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology–Morgan State University City Planning Collaborative (MIT-MSU) focuses on opportunities for teaching in parallel and jointly, guest lectures, joint research, and student and faculty exchanges.

Moving Forward Initiative

Building on past efforts to advance institutional change, the DUSP Moving Forward Initiative identified key challenges related to departmental culture, governance, and accountability, and co-created priorities to transform departmental structures and everyday practices.

PlanNEXT

DUSP’s collective of K-12 Initiatives, PlanNEXT, provides an opportunity to engage in communities, co-create knowledge, and spark interest in the next generation of urban planners and civic leaders.

Racially Just Research Initiative

The Racially Just Research Initiative (RJRI) centers around providing DUSP researchers with ten foundational themes that can guide their work using methodologies that support racially just outcomes.
