Alex Cabral
Assistant Professor of Environmental Health and Sociotechnical Systems
Alex is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning and the Institute of Data, Systems, and Society at MIT. She is the director of the SEED Lab, which works with communities to design, develop, and deploy sensing and data infrastructure for environmental health and social wellbeing.
Alex earned her PhD in Computer Science at Harvard University, a BS in Computer Science from Columbia University, and an MS in Computational Linguistics from University of Washington. She was a Program Manager and Software Engineer at Xbox for nearly four years and taught middle and high school Computer Science, Robotics, and Math before beginning her PhD.
