Miguel Dias

Miguel Dias joined SPURS/Humphrey in 2018 from a role as chief of the Infrastructure Planning Department at GTRUC, a public agency in charge of the urban renewal of Cazenga, the major slum in Luanda, Angola. He worked in master planning implementation, infrastructure provision, housing design, and in situ relocation. He also served as a lecturer in housing design at the Universidade Lusiada in Luanda, Angola. Previously, he worked in various Portuguese municipalities. He holds a degree in architecture from Universidade do Porto in Portugal. He also did master’s level work in urban and regional planning at Universidade de Aveiro in Portugal. At MIT, he devoted his time to reasearching and studying urban infrastructure and economic development.
