In 2018, Khatoon H. Alkhayyat arrived to SPUR/Humphrey as a general senior engineer in the parks and garden section of the Capital Municipality of Bahrain. Previous to that position, she worked as a Grade A consultant in architecture in Bahrain. She earned her master’s degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in England. Her thesis centered on a decision-making framework for selecting the most suitable sunshade type. At the University of Bahrain, she won the prize for best graduation project. At MIT, she worked in the area of sustainable affordable housing.
