Yong Guo

Assistant Professor in Department of Landscape Architecture, School of Architecture at Tsinghua University. Researches and teaches on theories, methods, and application of landscape technologies, particularly LIM and related information technologies applied for urban and rural landscape planning, design, construction, and maintenance. Previously a visiting scholar at TU Berlin working on technological aesthetics and design research methodologies, and a post-doc in the Urban Planning Department, School of Architecture at Tsinghua University researching landscape information modeling for regional planning history. Has worked as a field landscape architect for several design offices and planning institutes.

Holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the School of Landscape Architecture, Beijing Forestry University; and a Master of Engineering and Ph.D. in Engineering from the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University.

At MIT, wants to explore the systematic methods in which spatial data and emerging information technology can improve the sustainability of urban ecological systems.
