Salvador Herrera Montes

CEO (since 2013) and founding partner of Urbanistica, where he is responsible for the company's portfolio development, client management, research and methodology leadership. Holds twenty-three years’ experience as an urban and mobility planner in the government, NGO and private sectors. Worked for ten years in urban and transportation planning in various cities and countries, including the United States, Spain, and Mexico. Was Chief Operating Officer at WRI Mexico for six years.

Holds Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Iberoamerican University Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico; Bachelor’s degree in urban planning from Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes, Mexico; and Certificate of Specialty in Town Management and Urban Development from National School of Administration, Paris, France.                                                                                                               

At MIT, aims to learn to build and assemble multi-sectoral tools and strategies to tackle climate change and social inequality in cities of the developing world.
