Karma Choden Tshering

Senior Land Registrar in Department of Land Administration and Management at Bhutan's National Land Commission. Responsibilities include coordinating and formulating rules and regulations concerning land; land management and administration; and carrying out applied research to resolve practical land issues. Previously, conceptualized first-ever participatory mapping of grazing pastures by highlanders using smart phones, and served as member of Bhutan's Eastern COVID-19 Task Force. 

Holds a bachelor's degree in English and Geography from Sherubtse College and Master of Science in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation with Specialization in Land Administration from University of Twente. 

Interested in exploring how to balance urban and regional development with land use planning and management in the face of rapid urbanization in Bhutan.
