Iman Aziz

Has served in the field of contracts management, project management and business advisory in the power generation, power plant operation and maintenance, and power plant rehabilitation, with extensive experience in the power sector in Lebanon and developing countries. After working as a maintenance engineer in Deir Amar and Zahrani Combined Cycle Power Plants, became a project engineer involved in project planning as well as pricing and tendering of prospective projects. Most recently was a Contract Manager where she managed all contractual obligations and deliverables, including pricing BOQ, and overview of recruitment to ensure contract compliance. This role also involved managing the relationship with the client on a technical and contractual level intervening in crisis and assessing risks and damages; and carrying out investigation reports of delicate events recommending corrective and preventive measures. 

 

Holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Lebanese American University; a MBA from ESA Business School; and a Master of Management with focus in entrepreneurship from ESCP Europe.

 

During the fellowship, aims to learn how to address the issues facing the power sector in Lebanon and other development countries; explore the intersection between technical solutions, political interests and international organizations' financing role. When is a political or economic solution not technically viable or applicable? And when is a technical solution not feasible?
