Heba Shoaib
Project Manager at Takween Integrated Community Development where she leads multiple urban development projects with a range of international agencies, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Cairo University, Nile University, and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology. Holds over 17 years of experience in the field of architecture and urban design, including work with CDC (Community Design Collaborative) Abdelhalim I., Zoheir Fayez Partners, and A2G2 Architects. Led multiple projects at Takween Integrated Community Development, adopting a participatory approach, with a range of international agencies, including UNHCR, UN-Women, UNDP, UN-Habitat, UNESCO, and GIZ, in the areas of urban upgrading, design, and planning, heritage conservation and management, architecture solutions, and capacity building.
Holds PhD in Architecture from Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University; MSc in Landscape Design from Scuola Superiore di Catania; and BSc in Architecture from Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University
During the fellowship, aims to broaden understanding and knowledge of development and urban planning issues and urban policies, exchanging knowledge with urban professionals in the United States to gain experience on how urban issues are addressed. Also aims to study new approaches, methodologies, tools, and advanced technologies in urban design and planning in general, and specifically in achieving sustainable solutions for more inclusive urban spaces in the built environment.
