Davit Asanidze

Freelance urban planner and lecturer at the University of Georgia who has a strong professional background in urban/regional planning and real estate development. Complemented with profound knowledge in real estate, design management, urban renewal, street design, and participatory urban planning. Possess strong skills in combining strategic planning thinking and urban and spatial planning practices.

Davit successfully led and managed large-scale projects in land use master planning, residential, hotel, and brownfield development, and universal urban design. Additionally, he has consultancy experience working with international companies and donor organizations, and financial institutions (ADB, WB, IRI, UNECE, UNDP, 100 RC, GIZ, RAMBOLL, SASAKI, former head of Urban Policy and Planning Division at Tbilisi City Hall). Able to effectively communicate and develop relationships with high-level government and business officials, community stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and contractors. Davit is a member of the American Planning Association (APA).

Holds a master's degree in Urbanism and Spatial Planning from University of Lisbon (Instituto Superior Tecnico) and a bachelor's degree in Architecture from Georgian Technical University.

During the fellowship, focused on the inclusive, fair-shared city concept and placemaking tools to promote the public good and balanced real estate development.
