Wing Man Chan
Wing Man is a Master of City Planning candidate at MIT (2026), with a focus on City Design and Development. With a background in both urban design and architectural design, she is also pursuing the Urban Design Certificate to further integrate planning, design, and policy in shaping more sustainable and people-centered cities.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Wing Man earned a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Healthy Urbanism from NewSchool of Architecture and Design in San Diego. Her academic and professional experiences have centered on the intersection of architecture and urban planning, with a particular interest in urban data analytics, active mobility, and climate resiliency. Before coming to MIT, she worked as an architectural designer, focusing on educational and gathering spaces. Now, she is expanding her expertise to address broader urban challenges through interdisciplinary and systems-based approaches.
At MIT, Wing Man is eager to explore innovative strategies that enhance public spaces, improve urban experiences, and create more equitable and resilient environments. As an active member of AIA and APA, she remains engaged in the larger discourse of design and planning, committed to collaborative problem-solving that bridges spatial design, policy, and technology to shape the cities of the future.
