Thomas Hyo-min King
Thomas King is a dual Master of Architecture and Master of City Planning candidate. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from McGill University. He works currently as a Research Technician at ReCONstruct—an R&D initiative geared towards developing a turnkey deep energy retrofit program for Quebec—where he has concentrated largely on multi-criteria analysis of the existing building stock to inform scalable deep retrofit strategies.
Prior to ReCONstruct, Thomas worked with an international urban design and innovation team on issues of urban health, coastal vulnerability, and water scarcity in developing countries. He also worked as a founding director of Biocene, a cleantech start-up that focuses on water remediation and carbon-negative products. Thomas’ interests lie at the intersection of technology and policy innovations that build community resilience and accelerate deep decarbonization of the built environment.
