Smriti Bhaya
Smriti is a Legatum Fellow for Entrepreneurship in Emerging Countries at MIT. She has a background in architecture, and have worked on private and public development projects in India, and with NYC's Department of City Planning. Currently, she's working part time as a GIS & Strategy consultant with an circular sanitation environmental organization called Sanergy Collaborative in Kenya. At MIT, she co-founded a social impact start-up, called Purifyx that provides low cost passive water filters for rural households in India that rely on river water for consumption. Her interests lie at the intersection of social innovation and climate resilience, and using remote sensing, and spatial analytics to solve the pressing problems of water resources and coastal inundation.
