What might the Broadway Corridor area look like twenty years into the future, in 2042? This was the central question posed in Envision Arlington's Civic Engagement Group's 2022 Design Competition.
The Broadway Corridor area includes single and multi-family housing, a major bus route, Arlington Housing Authority property, a small commercial district, an elementary school, and a park - allowing teams to consider how the built environment and community would engage with housing costs, the climate crisis, mobility, and public health challenges.
On June 30th, 2020, Jay Maddox, Shannon Hasenfratz, and Daniel Pratama's East Arlington Complete Neighborhood was named the winner of the design competition.
