Cities and Climate Change: Planning with Vulnerable Communities in Chelsea

This workshop explores cross-jurisdictional climate change policies and their effects on equity and socially vulnerable populations. The course examines factors of greatest concern in adapting cities to climate change including infrastructure, energy food and water systems, health, housing and environmental justice. The course will review climate change hazards and social vulnerability to climate change; vulnerability and resilience frameworks and mapping strategies.  Students will examine and utilize planning tools to prevent displacement and foster healthy, resilient communities; and make recommendations regarding the policies, politics, laws, and investment used to implement those plans.
