Sonny Oram

Sonny joined DUSP in July 2016, where Sonny is applying an interest racial justice, trans rights, and environmental justice through promoting urban solutions. Sonny founded the website Qwear in 2011 to provide representation of fashion that doesn't adhere to social, beauty, and gender norms. Qwear gained international recognition with press including The New York TimesBuzzfeed, S Moda (Spain), The Huffington Post Live,, and Design*Sponge. In March 2016, Sonny spoke at South by South West's first official queer fashion panel, addressing issues of beauty, size, and gender performance in the fashion industry and in 2015 Sonny was awarded dapperQ of the year. A graphic designer, Sonny's poster design was featured on Archinect's "Get Lectured" Series.

Sonny completed a Bachelor's degree at Oberlin Conservatory, studying viola performance. Previous communications work includes managing the Lydian String Quartet at Brandeis University.
