Project
Waste 2 Place: A New Model for Reclamation in America

WASTE2PLACE evolved from work conducted at the design research lab Project for Reclamation Excellence (P-REX). From the publication of Reclaiming the American West (PAP, 2002) and Designing the Reclaimed Landscape (Taylor&Francis, 2008) to the most recent collaborations with the EPA and developers for abandoned mine sites, P-REX has always pursued a more strategic path to reclamation of mined landscapes. The website and its associated booklets represents the cumulative efforts to formulate a new public model for design on reclaimed mining sites.
