One of America's foremost environmentalists, Gus Speth will describe the dire state of the nation's political economy and offer a blueprint for economic, political, and ecological transformation.
After graduating from Yale Law School in 1969, Gus Speth founded the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). From 1977 to 1981, he served on President Carters Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), before going on to found the World Resources Institute. In 1999, Speth became dean of the Yale School of Forestry, where he remained until taking a position at the Vermont Law School in 2010. For the last decade, Speth has been writing widely read books about the need for a transformation to an ecological economy.
Gus Speth will be signing copies of his book after the talk.
