Project
Urban Technology & Policy Implementation Lab

With students Nelson Lee and Jinghong Lyu, David Hsu is using funding from the Environmental Solutions Initiative, for developing a new class to implementing new technologies and methods strategically to improve the environment of cities. This class has a studio/applied laboratory format, in which they organize diverse students into teams, and then working with help from a TA and the instructor, build and develop tools and data to assist in environmental goals. Most of ideas for this class rely on cheap sensors and open source modeling. This year (2018) they are building an urban air quality sensor network on the MIT campus.
