DUSP Alumna receives honorary doctorate of fine arts from the University of Notre Dame

DUSP Alumna Martha Lampkin Welborne receives honorary doctorate of fine arts from the University of Notre Dame.

In her thesis, Martha Lampkin Welborne, MCP '81, examined Regional/Urban Design Assistance Team (R/UDAT) programs' ability to promote participation by local actors in a design process. To read more about her thoughts on the R/UDAT efficacy, check out her thesis here.

After leaving DUSP, Welborne was a Loeb Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, an associate partner with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, a principal of Sasaki Associates in Boston, the chief planning officer for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and is currently the senior vice president for corporate real estate and global facilities with The Walt Disney Co.
